Events and Entertainments in Caorle
This marvellously located beach resort on the Adriatic coast is fully suited for having fun, fitness and relaxation. Or you could take part in one of the gymnastic activities, which take place along the beach to some groovy music. During the summer, you can assist and participate to a lot of different events: dancing nights, theatrical representations, music concerts in the churches, as well as modern music concerts on the streets or in the square, art exhibitions, traditional parties, the Fish and Chicken party, and the Grape party in September. Even though summer is at its end in September, this is a very animated and lively period of the year in Caorle. In fact, the city always organizes events such as the Street theatre festival called “the moon in the well” during which artists and young actors cheer up streets, tourists and inhabitants with games, jokes and exhibitions.
The “Regata della Madonnina,” the “Race for the little Madonna” is another very acclaimed event. During this race, all the stroke companies of the city compete to win a prize. “Vivistoria,” “Live the History” is an historical commemoration that puts on stage an historical fact that took place in the x century: the rape of some brides who had been promised for some Venetian nobles. They were raped by some Dalmatian pirates.
The exhibitions starts with the arrival of the pirates and the raped brides at the port of Caorle, followed by the arrival of the inhabitants of Caorle who succeed in killing the enemies and show their corpses to the people on the street.
